Billing and Collections
Bills are mailed to members once a month normally on the first (1st) business day of every month. Payment is due in the Bailey County Electric office no later than 16 days from the date of the BCEC invoice.
Past Due Information
BCEC bills are due sixteen (16) calendar days from the date of the bill unless such day falls on a holiday or weekend. The payment will be due the next business day after a holiday or weekend. If payment is not received accordingly, the bill becomes delinquent and is subject to disconnection. To inform members of this, a Disconnect Notice will be mailed the day following the due date. A late fee for each delinquent account will automatically be added to the member’s bill when a Notice is created. The Notice will be mailed separately at least ten (10) days prior to the stated date of disconnection.
If the bill remains unpaid, a Door Notice will be left at the member’s residence at least two (2) days prior to disconnection. If payment is not received by the date specified on the Door Notice, service will be subject to disconnection. BCEC crews are dispatched no later than 8:30 a.m. on the date specified for disconnection. When a balance is not paid before crews are dispatched, a trip charge will be added to the amount owed. Disconnections will be done within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central time but will not occur the day before a weekend or on a day the Cooperative will be closed.
